Health & Safety

Here at D. McHale we take the health and safety of our employees’ and customers extremely seriously.  Health and Safety Training is not only important, but is actually compulsory in our particular industry.

Training within the construction industry is one of the trades that highly requires’ a high level of Health and Safety Training. It is impossible to work safely and effectively without having sufficient knowledge of how to work safely and effectively on site. Over 200 people are killed each year in accidents at work and over one million people are injured. Over two million suffer illnesses caused by, or made worse by their work environment. This is precisely why each and every employee working for D. McHale is training for their own safety and that of the public.

Working in the construction industry can be dangerous with many risks contributing to high danger levels such as; heights, weight of objects, use of sharp tools, use of power tools etc. It is essential that all employees wear the correct PPE (personal protective equipment) and this is supplied by us their employer. Training plays a big part in being safe! Being aware of risks and hazards and knowing the difference between the two can be lifesaving! This can help your business avoid the distress that accidents and ill health cause and help us and you to avoid possible cost implications.

The law requires that D. McHale provide whatever information, instruction and training is needed to ensure the Health & Safety of our employees.
