At D McHale we have a solution and a team member to get any job done.

Damian is the owner of D McHale and has over 25 years experience in the Landscaping & Building trade, with a beginning in the field of agriculture. Damian gained experience in land management and arable contracting including:-  Crops, Grassland and Grass management. This expertise developed at a rapid pace and Damian then acquired experience in Building and Landscaping including:- Foundations, Digging; Structural work; Drainage; Plastering and other disciplines within the building trade.

Aaron has worked in the building industry since leaving school and with 15 years under his belt he is a highly skilled member of our team. Aaron is our specialist in Paving, Roofing; Decking and much more.

Cullin is our qualified Architect and Structural engineer with over 35 years experience who acts as our client agent to negotiate with local councils and manages everything from survey’s to dealing with planning permission. Cullin also specialises in the design of lofts, both single and double storey extensions, new builds and all structural calculations.

Peter of Bird Electrics which opened in 1999, is our resident Electrician. Peter has become highly recognised throughout the North East, providing his services to both our domestic and commercial customers as an NIC/EIC approved contractor.

Brian is our specialist in Plastering, Dry-walling and Rendering. He has acquired 15 years experience in the Building trade and is extremely knowledgable in his specialist field.

D McHale is fully insured including Public liability to £2,000,000.

Health & Safety Training

Training within the construction industry is one of the trades that highly requires’ a high level of Health and Safety Training. It is impossible to work safely and effectively without having sufficient knowledge of how to work safely and effectively on site. Over 200 people are killed each year in accidents at work and over one million people are injured. Over two million suffer illnesses caused by, or made worse by their work environment. This is precisely why each and every employee working for D. McHale is training for their own safety and that of the public.

Here at D. McHale we take the health and safety of our employees’ and customers extremely seriously. Health and Safety Training is not only important, but is actually compulsory in our particular industry. Working in the construction industry can be dangerous with many risks contributing to high danger levels such as; heights, weight of objects, use of sharp tools, use of power tools etc.  It is essential that all employees wear the correct PPE (personal protective equipment) and this is supplied by us their employer. Training plays a big part in being safe! Being aware of risks and hazards and knowing the difference between the two can be lifesaving! This can help your business avoid the distress that accidents and ill health cause and help us and you to avoid possible cost implications.

The law requires that D. McHale provide whatever information, instruction and training is needed to ensure the Health & Safety of our employees. In addition, we also strive to protect and safeguard our customers when working on their premises. We have ensured that there will ALWAYS be someone who is qualified in First Aid and also up to date with any new legislation and First Aid techniques. We have recently completed our training in the following subjects:
